The annual Israeli holiday, this year marking the 76th anniversary of the establishment of the modern State of Israel, Yom Ha’atzmau’ut, begins on the eve of May 13, 2024.  Given the tragic and complex circumstances surrounding the seizure of innocent Israeli hostages and the resulting war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, (and Hamas’ allies in the region), Congregation Beth Evergreen will host a sacred, peaceful gathering with contemporary music, poetry, and prayer. The event is designed to both celebrate the best of Israeli society and to address the wide range of moral and emotional heartbreak created by the devastating impacts of occupation and war.
