Dear Members and Friends of CBE,

CBE leadership has continued to closely monitor local COVID cases and public health guidance as put out by Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH). Throughout the pandemic we have used a combination of public health recommendations and our own Jewish values to make decisions regarding the safety of our congregation. Given the increase of positive COVID cases even among those who are vaccinated, we are compelled to reinstate the policy of wearing masks and socially distancing indoors.  Effective today, Aug. 10th, we are requiring that masks be worn indoors at CBE among all congregants and visitors ages 2 and up, regardless of vaccination status.

It has been wonderful to see all your smiles and we recognize that there will be many mixed emotions around the need to mask up once again. We are grateful to each of you for honoring the safety of your fellow congregants and visitors to CBE. We are in this together.

We will continue to provide updates on CBE’s mask policy per JCPH’s guidance as we approach the High Holidays. In the meantime, we will make the most of our beautiful outdoor spaces—holding services, classes, and meetings outside, where mask wearing will be optional, whenever possible. And, we will continue to livestream all programming and meetings via Zoom, enabling all of us to participate in our communal events from the comfort and safety of your homes.

L’shalom
