Reconstructionist Judaism
In June 2005, Congregation Beth Evergreen formally joined the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation (JRF).
*Reconstructionist Judaism, the fourth branch of contemporary Judaism, defines Judaism as the evolving religious civilization of the Jewish people. Reconstructionists therefore seek to create warm and welcoming synagogue communities that are respectful of traditional Jewish practice yet open to new interpretation and creative forms of religious expression. Reconstructionism emphasizes participatory and democratic decision making around issues of communal observance and practice, and encourages individuals to find their own connection to Jewish life.
